9f15a2c7fd8ef2cd38dab0c397a037f1_large0060828a26a21af38e052d324ad36889_largeI love this and only wish the Moozi was available a few years ago when I was up late nights and needed to make a perfect temperature bottle for my hungry little guy. The Moozi does for Baby Formula what Keurig did for coffee.
Invented by Miriam Kutcher a mother of two girls the Moozi is Love Made Simple.
“When my girls were infants, making a formula bottle was a time-consuming process that involved rushing down to the kitchen in the middle of the night to try to measure, warm and mix a bottle as quickly as possible. Listening to them cry while doing all of this was stressful. I wanted my focus and attention to be on them, not the prep work,” says Miriam Kutcher, president and founder. “So I came up with the idea of Moozi and after three long yet gratifying years, I’m proud to bring this product to the market.”

Here are the exciting Moozi features:
1. One-Button Operation
Freshly prepared formula made at the touch of one button! At any time of the day or night, it couldn’t be easier to make the perfect bottle!
2. Single-Serving Reusable Pods
You want the formula that’s right for your baby. With Moozi’s single-serving reusable pods, you choose whatever formula you (and your baby) prefer and how much you will use for each feeding. Each Moozi comes with 3 reusable pods. Each pod holds up to 8 oz. of powdered formula and additional pod packs are also available for purchase. Moozi has you covered!
3. Safety Sensors
Safety is of utmost importance with Moozi. The water sensors ensure there is water in the tank and the water temperature is regulated. The bottle sensor alerts you if there isn’t a bottle in position. Moozi will do all of the thinking for you, so you can be stress free and focused on your little one.
4. Regulated Temperature
Your wrist is no longer needed as the test strip for figuring out the perfect temperature bottle! Body temperature is approximately 98.6 degrees — so is the formula made in the Moozi.
5. Dry Release System
Moozi’s unique dry release system keeps the formula and water separate until they mix in the bottle. The dry environment reduces bacteria growth and keeps the system running smoothly.
6. Fresh and Reliable
Moozi is a single use formula preparation system. Your bottles are always fresh. What you put into Moozi is what you get out of Moozi, so you safely ensure consistency each and every time you use it.
7. Easy Maintenance
Cleaning Moozi is as easy as operating it. The dispensing funnel is removable and top-rack dishwasher safe.
8. Upright Wide-Neck Bottles and All Formulas
Parents decide what’s best for their infants. Moozi works with upright wide-neck bottles. All formula brands work in the Moozi reusable pods, so you decide what’s best for your infant and how much you need to use.

The Moozi is set to hit retail stores in late 2015. Miravan,LLC the manufacturer is offering potential backers an advance offer to purchase the Moozi at the discount price of $125 through their Kickstarter campaign. And if you do not need a Moozi for yourself you can donate $100 and a Moozi will be donated to a Military family through Operation Shower, as well as local Massachusetts area shelters.

Did you know that Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for kids ages one through 12 years old? In addition, three out of four kids are not as properly secured in a vehicle because their car seats are not correctly installed. Child Passenger Safety Week, sponsored by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), aims to educate parents and caregivers on ways to improve statistics, and ultimately save lives

Here are some very important child passenger safety tips from Sarah Tilton, Britax Child Passenger Safety Advocacy Manager.

1. Select a car seat that fits your baby and your vehicle(s). Also, be sure that you can use it correctly each and every time.
2. Be sure your car seat fits your growing child. Seated shoulder height is often overlooked.

3. Belt-Positioning Boosters are for big kids. Don’t transition out of a 5-point harness prematurely.

4. When using LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children), be aware that your vehicle’s lower anchors have weigh limits. You must switch to vehicle seat belt installation when the weight of the car seat and the child exceed 65 lbs.

5. A snug harness strap should not allow any slack. If you’re able to pinch the strap, the harness is too loose. You should not be able to pinch any excess webbing.

6. For children 12 years of age and under, remember — the backseat is always the safest place for them to ride. Be sure to check your child seat and vehicle user guides for available seating positions.

7. Britax recommends that the use of a child seat be discontinued if it has been in a moderate to severe crash. Also, never purchase a used car seat if you don’t know its history.

8. Did you know that your car seat has an expiration date? Double check the manufacturer’s tag to be sure your seat is still safe.

9. Vehicles can become very hot, especially in the warm summer months. Never leave your child in a vehicle unattended.

10. Be sure your child’s harness is tight enough, especially in the winter months when children are bundled up in thick layers and bulky outerwear.

11. After buying a car seat, be sure to register your product either by visiting the manufacturer’s website, mailing the registration card or by calling their Customer Service department. That way you can be contacted in the event of a recall.

12. Always refer to your child restraint user guide or call your car seat’s customer service about installation and proper use questions you might have. If you still feel unsure about your car seat installation, please have a certified technician check your installation.

1. Tug on your kid’s car seat where the seat belt goes. If it moves more than 1″ at the base, tighten it up.

2. Secure furniture and TVs. Mount flat screens and keep bukly-style TVs on a low and stable base, or recycle them.

3. Check smoke and CO alarms monthly. Replace devices every 10 years. Replace batteries every year.

4. Scan your home for places kids can get into medicine. It is pills in purses, vitamins on counters and medicine in daily reminder boxes that curious kids get into.

5. Check around your home for coin-sized button batteries.

6. Ask your kid’s coaches if they have had concussion or sports safety training.

7. Take the Safe Kids Challenge: Take Action Against Distraction – Distraction impacts driving, walking, bath time and just about everything. Here is the Safe Kids Challenge: take a month to notice times when you or your kids are distracted. Help each other remember to put down the phone or whatever is distracting you and focus on looking out for each other.

Safe Kids Worldwide goal is to Celebrate Kids, Prevent Injuries and Save Lives.

20140414-032652.jpgI am beyond excited to be a member of the Madame Alexander Mom Advisory Board for 2014. I am going to be able to share all the wonder, that is Madame Alexander! Let me tell you a little about how this magical company came to be. Madame Alexander Doll Company was founded in 1923 by Madame Beatrice Alexander Behrman whose father owned the first Doll Hospital in America. It was here that she played with the dolls waiting to be mended. Beatrice Alexander believed in the American dream and started her own doll company. Her vision focused on the belief that dolls should engage the imagination and aid in a child’s happiness. Madame Alexander Dolls continue  to delight children and collectors all over the world. With Madame Alexander Dolls you get handcrafted quality that is impeccable even to this day.

Madame Alexander has an extensive doll line that includes Baby Dolls, Newborn Nursery Dolls, 18″ Dolls, Character Dolls, Madame’s Best which include the 90th Anniversary Collection, Americana, Ballerinas and Fairies, Broadway and the Movies, Fashion, Holiday, International, Special Occasions, Women of Fashion and History and the Storyland collection.

I just adore the Storyland collection and was ecstatic when I received the (Alice in Wonderland) Alice in Her Red Dress 8-inch collectible doll for review as part of the Mom Advisory Board for Madame Alexander. Alice in Her Red Dress is an exquisite, fully articulated blonde, browned eyed doll that is a girl’s dream come true. I felt like a little girl again when I received her myself! Her dress is red crepe-backed satin that has puffed sleeves that are made from the satin side of the fabric, while the skirt features the crepe side of the same fabric. With a white collar and ruffled apron hem her dress is perfection. Top that off with a black headband and black patent Mary Jane’s, Alice is complete. Alice in Her Red Dress is available for $99.95 and is for age 14 and up. 20140414-032540.jpg20140414-040231.jpg

Happy National Crayon Day 2014

Today, March 31st is National Crayon Day! I remember when I was young getting a new box of Crayola Crayons was just the best...the smell and feel of a new box was just wonderful! There were four of us growing up, so this was and still is an inexpensive way to entertain children for hours on end. Well for over a century children of all ages have been coloring with the iconic Crayola crayon. Let me share with you all some fun facts about Crayola Crayons.
The first box of Crayola Crayons was introduced in 1903 and sold for just a nickel and included the same eight colors that are available today: Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Violet, Orange, Black and Brown.Sunset
Crayola produces nearly 3 billion crayons each year, an average of 12 million wax sticks daily. This would be enough to circle the globe 6 times! How cool is that!
The average child in the United States will wear down about 730 crayons by the time they reach their 10th birthday, that would be 11,464 or 7 pounds of crayons, this is enough to cover an NBA basketball court...wow!
And according to Christian Science Monitor, parents buy enough crayons in a year to make a giant crayon that is 35 feet wide and 100 feet taller than the Statue of Liberty!

Such fun and fascinating facts about Crayola Crayons. So lets everyone young and old pick up a box of Crayola Crayons today and let your creativity flow!
